Suggested Driving Routes From Previous Years:

Wildflower & San Saba Peak Tour
Take Highway 16 south from Goldthwaite about 1-1/2 miles from town and turn left on FM 2032 (Bull's Creek Road). Go about seven miles and take a left at the first intersection. Continue about 2-1/2 miles, take first road to the left, continue down this road about 2 miles (an improved road but not fenced), you will see San Saba Peak straight ahead and to your right. The small mountain was a landmark for early Spanish travelers. Spanish gold and silver is supposedly buried somewhere in the area. You may refer to J. Frank Dobie's book Coronado's Children for more information. Continue on this country road until it intersects with Highway 183. Turn left and go about 3 miles back to Goldthwaite.

Regency Suspension Bridge and Wildflower Tour
Starting Point and historical marker information in Goldthwaite is located at the intersection of FM 574 (Hanna Valley) and Highway 183. Drive out on FM 574 about 22 miles and take CR 433 to the left to Regency. The only thing left at Regency is the abandoned old country store. Continue for another half mile and you will see the Suspension Bridge. After crossing it turn around and follow CR 433 back until it intersects with FM 574. Turn right and drive back to Goldthwaite.
